PLAYSTATION PLUS MONTHLY GAMES: FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S: SECURITY BREACH, RUIN + PATCH NOTES!

Hey y’all!

Five Nights at Freddys: Security Breach is one of the PlayStation Plus monthly games and if you’re a member, you can download it for free 8/06/24! We’re honored and overjoyed for even more people to get their hands on Security Breach and Security Breach: Ruin. And since more folks are going to be playing than ever before, it’s time for another exciting episode of “What? There’s ANOTHER Security Breach and Ruin bug fix/optimization patch?” Yes, yes there is and we want to give y’all a run-down of what’s changed. Up front, I want to call out that this patch is specifically for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Beyond being one of August’s monthly games, Security Breach and Ruin continue to be enjoyed by so many people. We still see discussions on social media, get feedback through our support channels, and see streamers playing it for the millionth time. Seeing the consistent joy the game has brought folks really puts a smile on our faces. But occasionally, we grimace a bit…

Because of all that continued love, we repeatedly see the bugs that have haunted us since SB’s launch, and they drive us bonkers. The truth is we’ll never be able to fix everything we want, but for your sake (and for the sake of us sleeping a bit better) we decided to pull the trigger on fixing a few more of the lingering issues. Here’s what we’ve got for you this time:

Security Breach - Patch Notes

Base Game Launch Error (PS4)

A version mismatch between the Base Game and the DLC will now trigger an error message (such as CE-34878-0) when launching. If you encounter this issue, please follow the instructions below to ensure that both the Security Breach base game and RUIN DLC are fully updated to the latest version (1.016).

  • STEP 1 - Uninstall Security Breach and RUIN:

    • Find Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach on the system menu.

    • Highlight the game tile and press the “Options” button.

    • Select “Delete” from the sidebar menu and confirm with “OK”.

      • Note: This will delete both Security Breach and the RUIN DLC from your system, but will not delete any of your saved progress.

  • STEP 2 - Reinstall Security Breach:

    • If you own the game digitally, navigate to the “Library” on the far right of the system menu.

      • Enter the Library and highlight “Purchased” on the left sidebar.

      • Find Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach and select it.

      • Click the “Download” button on the left.

        • Note: This will download the base game, but not the RUIN DLC.

      • After installation, highlight the game tile and press the “Options” button.

      • Select “Information” and verify the game is Version 1.016.

    • If you own the game on a physical disc, insert the game disc and install and update as usual.

      • After installation, highlight the game tile and press the “Options” button.

      • Select “Check for Updates” to get the latest update from the PlayStation™ Store.

      • Highlight the game tile again and press the “Options” button.

      • Select “Information” and verify the game is Version 1.016.

  • STEP 3 - Reinstall the RUIN DLC:

    • Navigate to the “PlayStation™ Store” on the far left of the system menu.

    • Enter the Store and select “Search” from the top bar.

    • Search for “Security” and you should see both the main Security Breach game and the RUIN DLC tiles appear in the Results on the right.

    • Select the RUIN tile and then select the “Download” button on the left.

    • Used the Faz-Cam to interrupt the jump scare from other Animatronics while simultaneously stunning Freddy in the background as well, and then stunning Freddy again with the Faz-Cam a second time.

    • Used the Fazerblaster to shoot Freddy and then shooting him once again just before the stun ends.

  • Fixed an issue where the left column key binds were not cleared after accepting the Warning Window, which allowed players to bind a button to multiple controls via the right column

  • Fixed a RUIN DLC issue where the floors in Gator Golf could sometimes be missing.

That’s what we’ve got for you right now. Obviously this is a big month for FNAF (can you believe it’s been ten years already?!), so you won’t be waiting too long to hear from us again.

It’s truly an honor that Security Breach is one of August’s monthly games on PlayStation Plus. In this job we get to see and experience plenty of extraordinary things, and this time is no different. Hopefully there’ll be more than a few new FNAF fans joining the community and we know you’ll welcome them with open arms. We hope you’re happy with the latest update!

Thank you!
